As someone who loves love, I find it endearing how it has its own way of sneaking up on us when we least expect it. It may sound cliché, but I always anticipate love – not just the romantic kind, but platonic too. Yet, when it happens, it’s amusing how our lives can take a 180° turn in the most profound ways.

Something inside flips and suddenly, you’re ready to risk it all. It often begins with a spark – a glance, a smile, a shared laugh. It isn’t just attraction, it’s a deep sense of familiarity, as if my heart recognized yours from a thousand lifetimes before.

I might be reckless, doing things without thinking twice, but my decisions come genuinely from the heart. They are shaped by countless silly conversations where we lost track of time, shared victories playing Nintendo – though I always lose – and moments of vulnerability when I thought I could carry it alone, but you were always there to welcome me with open arms. It’s in the little things – the way your dimples appear when you smile, the warmth of your hand in mine, and the way you listened, really listened, to what I had to say.

Love makes us feel silly for sure. From the moment I felt it, everything changed. The world seemed brighter, and even the mundane parts of life took on a new glow. A simple walk to the parking lot after a movie felt personal and quiet evenings after long talks felt comforting, filled with a sense of certainty. These little things brought a warmth I had never known before. I realized that my heart had chosen you. Perhaps it all started with you, and ever since then, my heart has been quietly whispering a question, waiting for the perfect moment to ask: would you say yes?

Would you say yes to fighting over the last slice of pizza? Would you say yes to doing taxes and laundry together? Would you say yes to stressing over which home to go to first during festive seasons? Would you say yes to listing out groceries and dividing chores? Would you say yes to sharing our deepest fears and insecurities? Would you say yes to going through thick and thin together?

There’s so much we have yet to experience together, so many dreams to chase and memories to create. And through it all, I know that as long as we’re together, everything will be just as it should be.

From the moment I decided to fall in love with you, and in every moment since, I believe my forever probably started with that choice, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So, would you say yes to forever?
